Recently, speculation about a secret wedding between Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez intensified, especially after Ronaldo referred to Georgina as his “wife” in a training video. However, Georgina has now set the record straight.
In a candid interview, Georgina addressed the swirling rumors, stating, “Cristiano and I are incredibly happy together, but we are not married yet. When the time comes, it will be a special day for us and our family. For now, we’re focused on cherishing each moment together.”
The rumors began to gain traction after Cristiano Ronaldo, 39, mentioned the word “wife” in a video for his fitness brand, Whoop, shared on Instagram on July 29. During the video, Ronaldo said: “When I’m not training at the club, I like to train with my wife at home, because I can encourage her and she encourages me too.” That statement was enough to spark a wave of speculation among fans.
In the comments section of the video, several of Ronaldo’s followers asked if he had secretly married Georgina. “Did he say ‘my wife’? Did they secretly get married?” one fan wrote. Another added: “Cristiano, when did you marry her to call her ‘my wife’?”
Despite the speculation, Ronaldo’s publicist told People magazine that he could neither confirm nor deny whether the footballer had married. “At this time, I can neither confirm nor deny that Cristiano married Georgina. I simply do not know,” the statement read.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez have been together since 2017 and have built a solid family life. In an interview with Piers Morgan in 2022, Ronaldo spoke about the possibility of marrying Georgina, saying that while he was not in a rush to get married, he could see it happening in the future. “I think she deserves it. It’s not something that’s in my plans right now, but in the future, yes, I want it,” Ronaldo said at the time.
The couple have two daughters together, Alana and Bella, and Ronaldo is also father to Cristiano Jr. and twins Eva Maria and Mateo from previous relationships. The family has faced difficult times, especially after the loss of Bella’s twin son in April 2022, an event that brought Georgina and Cristiano even closer together.
In the Netflix series I Am Georgina , Rodriguez reflected on how Ronaldo helped her overcome the grief after the loss of her son. “Life is hard.
