This bird’s name is just the beginning of its wonder; witnessing its beauty is an absolute delight.
These birds are small, measuring only up to 4 inches long and weighing between 4 and 9 grams.
It sports multi-colored plumage, with a black “bandit mask” around the eyes, as well as white and orange-brown spots all over.
Their diet consists of berries, seeds, smaller insects and spiders.
It is found in open pine and broadleaf forests, often at medium altitudes.
They are very sociable birds and often travel in large flocks of up to 40 birds.
Black-throated bushtits are found in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains throughout India and in countries such as Bangladesh and Taiwan.
